My Haunted Travels with Lingering Souls Paranormal, Part II

Lingering Souls Paranormal Team

When you work with a group of gifted and talented people a special bond emerges. The bond I have with Lingering Souls Paranormal is a strong one. My skill level gets better and better each time I am with their team.

I mainly work with the team’s lead investigator, Cherie Pruitt. A percentage of my time is spent operating the camera, which is focused on Cherie and her work. She and I have gone into some of the most haunted places together and have experienced some of the most unexplained phenomenon, while her teammates are spread throughout the buildings on their own investigations.

Together, Cherie and I have learned how to work with each other. Sometimes it’s me that is drawn to an area where I steer Cherie to go. Other times, it’s her dragging me into a particular room or space, where both of us end up getting our butt’s kicked!

It’s those kind of moments that we both live for and fear! Going into battle with each other and surviving it afterwards, not only strengthens our bond and trust with each other, but it always makes for great war stories, bragging rights, and some awesome video footage!

These days, I can no longer imagine working with any other psychic empath the way Cherie and I work with each other. Our intelligence on the subject matter has grown. Many times, we are feeling or hearing the same things in tandem without telling each other. Our body language speaks volumes when we are on the hunt! Just by looking at how Cherie’s hands are moving before she starts talking, is a huge indicator that something bad is about to happen.

I am still in denial about my own paranormal abilities and will generally down play it, because it still sounds wackadoodle to me in my own head. Hiding behind the camera, not saying anything, is very comfortable for me!

Duke's Steakhouse at Casino Fandango

Before I met up with Lingering Souls Paranormal for the weekend, I went to Duke’s Steakhouse, inside Casino Fandango. A group of my former colleagues, who are all retired now, live in the area and suggested Duke’s.

If there is one thing that former cops do well…it’s eating and drinking! And we did both like there was no tomorrow!

My ribeye steak was done right! Medium rare, melt in your mouth, and seared to perfection for that nice crispy fat on the sides of the steak.

Firehouse Subs

I do enjoy a good sub every now and then! Firehouse Subs was a good one to go to even though it was a chain restaurant. The nearest one to my home town is 60 minutes away. So I took advantage of eating at this one in Carson City, NV.

America’s Heroes (aka: firefighters) need heroes themselves to look up to. That’s why there is law enforcement! We protect the firefighters by going into buildings and other rescues first, to make the place safe for them to enter…you know, in case there’s a bad guy causing problems!

I’m being a bit facetious! I love to take jabs at my co-professionals. They love to do the same, but true story, firefighters wait for us to arrive, in some cases, to secure their scene before they enter it. That’s what “real” heroes do for other heroes! ; )

I had the Italian sub. The sub had genoa salami, Virginia honey ham, melted provolone cheese, Italian dressing and seasonings, with mayo, mustard, lettuce, and a pickle spear on the side. It was good!

Tee Jay's Corner Cafe

Inside Cactus Jack’s Casino, which was a small casino, had an even smaller restaurant! The cafe is owned by Chef Tee Jay and he named it Tee Jay’s Corner Cafe. He started his business in 2020, showcasing his Indonesian-American food and talent in Carson City, NV.

The cafe was so small that I had a front row seat to the kitchen…watching every step Chef Tee Jay took with his culinary skills.

I had the Pad Thai. It’s a simple dish with complex flavors.  In the mix: rice noodles, carrots, broccoli, egg, onions, bean sprouts, and shrimp. It’s all stir fried in a sweet and spicy sauce, topped off with peanuts. You can ask not to have peanuts on the dish if you wish…

The Cracker Box

Carson City has a few good breakfast places. Like any other town or city, if the line is out the door, you want to eat their food!

The Cracker Box is one of those places where it is a “must” that you eat at that establishment! What qualifies a place to be a “must” in my book? Quality food, quality service, how busy the place is, and word of mouth about the place!

I had endless coffee pours and the scrambled chorizo dish. It was delish!

Villa Basque Cafe

There are a number of Basque Restaurants in this region of Nevada. The Basque folks are Southwestern Europeans from Northern Spain and Southwestern France.

Villa Basque Cafe was a wonderful place to eat and visit. The fusion of Basque, American, and Mexican flavors were amazing.

I had the chorizo steak and eggs, sunny up! My chorizo steak was smothered in a chorizo sauce with melted cheddar cheese, with a side of refried beans and rice!

The steak was full of flavor. It was like eating a chorizo enchilada. Yum…

Although I didn’t buy anything from their deli, it was fun to check out all the items they had in the display case. All of their meats were chorizo and they had a nice assortment of cheeses.

Nevada State Prison

During Late Summer and Mid Fall, I spent two long weekends at Nevada State Prison with Lingering Souls Paranormal and Santa Cruz Ghost Hunters.

Both weekends I walked away with internal and external physical injuries from unknown forces. It was also the first time Lingering Souls Paranormal lead investigator/empath Cherie, would reach new heights with her psychic empath abilities, making her more vulnerable to those unknown forces than ever before.

Destination Fear is a television documentary series. They filmed here earlier in the year. Their episode aired on November 27, 2021 on the Travel Channel.

When You're An Empath...

Cherie lives a blessed and cursed life, usually at the same time. She is just starting to realize the potential of her unique abilities. Our last time together at the Nevada State Prison was only the beginning of discovering her higher level empath skills.

Cherie and I have developed a skill of our own together. I know, usually before she knows, it’s time to either get out or sit and communicate with the other side. In this case, the incident in the infirmary was not a hostile one, but a chance for the spirit to tell his story through Cherie. Something she was not able to do only hours before this encounter. After this encounter, her psychic-empath ability reached to new heights, and carried over to our next investigation weeks later in a whole different town.

The story told here was channeled through Cherie as I probed her for answers. Each question I asked she delivered answers, not from her, but from the individual communicating with her. She could feel his pain, his death, and was able to articulate it on camera. However, it left Cherie emotionally drained after the encounter.

Cell Block 11

Cell Block 11 was a max Ad-Seg section of the prison with a couple of tiers. This block had violent gang members and other inmates who potentially could harm or kill inmates and staff. The top tier had white supremist and other ethnic backgrounds that got along with each other.

This was the second time (October 2021) that I investigated Cell Block 11. In my prior investigation (August 2021) on the top tier, I was attacked by two entities. One was holding me from behind while the other was shanking me from the front. A common prison tactic!

This activity was not only felt by me, but was captured on an SLS cam by Docent Susan B. It was also witnessed by a skeptic who was on his first ever paranormal investigation.

His name is James Gray. A former colleague of mine from law enforcement. He is also the author of a few true life crime books with fictional characters.

James is a natural born skeptic, as we all are, from law enforcement. He witnessed my ass being kicked on that tier and can’t wrap his mind around that event. He witnessed the SLS cam and the multi-stick figures and can’t debunk it. He also video recorded the SLS cam and provided me the footage.

James is still a skeptic, but with a slightly more open mind about the events in Cell Block 11. Go to: http://amazon.com and enter his name in the search box: James C. Gray and his books will pop up.

My encounter with those two prisoner spirits left a physical scar that bled for a bit. Later, the blood finally coagulated and scabbed. The internal pain lasted about a week or so.

Top Tier

In the above photo where you see Trevor D. holding on to me, Cherie saying a prayer, and Mykensie dousing me with holy water, was taken as a still shot from video. Eddie M. was operating the camera when the incident went down.

On this investigation, it was October 2021, and I returned to Cell Block 11 for further investigation. I will admit I showed up with a bit of an attitude seeking some sort of revenge for my first encounter.

I was alone in cell 10 when I felt like I lost my balance and stumbled, but the video shows me being pushed backwards up against the wall.

At that moment, I felt like I gained 600 pounds. I couldn’t move my arms, hands, or legs. I felt like Jello. Trevor had to extract me from the cell. In the photo above you can see that he was holding me upright and back with all his strength, because unknown forces were pulling me forward towards the rail of the tier. I felt like they were trying to throw me over the rail.

As Trevor moved me down the stairs, I could hear multiple voices chanting “jump” “jump” “jump” repeatedly. However, I felt so paralyzed from the weight I was feeling on me, I couldn’t jump off the tier even if I wanted to. A flaw in the prisoner spirits’ plan to have me thrown off the tier to my death.

Gang jumping a person or dog piling is another prison tactic to kill someone in the physical world. It didn’t work so well in the spirit world…apparently.

The dog pile and general beating I took left me with broken capillaries all over my body.

The Escape

As you can see in these two photos we made it outside of Cell Block 11. However, the unknown forces were still pulling and pushing me as Trevor and Cherie were using all their strength to hold onto me. Those unknown forces were trying to pull me back inside Cell Block 11. The amount of heavy pressure I was feeling was almost bone crushing and I felt like I was suffocating. As if those forces were trying to kill me.

The Price of Making Contact with the Other Side

I wasn’t the only one that was physically injured. Lingering Souls Paranormal took a physical beating with injuries as depicted above in the two photos.

Mykensie received several scratches on both arms. The video camera picked up some of the scratches while they were forming on her arm. She was in the death chamber area when this occurred.

Cherie had what is believed to be a thumb impression on her upper arm after verbalizing the sensation of being squeezed. This impression was caught on video forming while the camera was rolling.

And a few members became possessed (a future story I will tell in another episode).

Survival

My time traveling with Lingering Souls Paranormal has been anything but routine! Every investigation comes with activity, and more often than not, it comes with activity that is more powerful than the last time.

A lot of it has to do with the fact that the spirit world knows who Cherie Pruitt and Mykensie are! The spirit world knows they can communicate with them which draws spirits to Lingering Souls Paranormal.

And the evil spirit world knows the same. It’s what brings fear and dangerous situations right to our faces. Those dark forces are what keeps me up at night. But it’s the same dark forces that keeps Cherie, Mykensie, and I, coming back for more when we know we shouldn’t. It’s a weird conundrum to be in!
